Artysta oferuje nam cały zakres kształtów, niezwykłe bogactwo natury ciała, wypierane i zasłaniane przez kulturę. Nie ma tu jednak pornografii, gdyż brak jest erekcji, penisy są odsłonięte w swej zwisającej bezbronności. Penis niebędący w erekcji stanowi prawdziwe tabu lub łączony jest ze śmiesznością. Jest po prostu częścią ciała, a nie fallicznym symbolem władzy, do którego jesteśmy przyzwyczajeni. A jednak wciąż stanowi epicentrum męskości!
Jest coś w tym malarstwie, co pozwala zobaczyć mężczyzn na nowo lub po raz pierwszy naprawdę, pomimo całej „wysokiej i niskiej” historii aktu męskiego, tak marginalnej w sztuce polskiej. Wojciech Ćwiertniewicz jest pierwszym artystą w historii polskiego malarstwa, który naprawdę widzi, czuje i oddaje męskie ciało w jego pełni.

The artist presents a whole range of shapes, an unusual abundance of corporal nature, repressed and concealed by culture. However, this is no pornography as there are no erect penises: these penises are uncovered in their pendulous vulnerability. A soft penis is a real taboo or is considered ridiculous. It is simply a body part, not the usual phallic symbol of power. And yet it remains the epicentre of masculinity!
There is something in these paintings that affords a new look at men, the first genuine look, notwithstanding the whole “high and low” history of the male nude, marginal as it is to Polish art. Wojciech Ćwiertniewicz is the first artist in the history of Polish painting to really see, feel, and depict the male body in its full glory.
